?? Rock Chalk, Jayhawk!!! - I’m beyond thrilled to accept my second three-year term serving for The University of Kansas on the University of Kansas Libraries Board of Advocates. It is such a distinct honor to continue to serve my alma mater under the leadership of KU Dean of Libraries, Carol Smith; Board of Advocates Chair, Janet Cinelli; and Executive Director of Communications and Advancement, Christy McWard who has offered me amazing opportunities to serve on the Board of Advocates in addition to The Watson Centennial Council, The Watson Centennial Building Committee, The DASEE (Dean’s Award for Student Employee Excellence) Award Committee, and support the appointment of Dean Carol Smith as our new KU Dean of Libraries.
‘Today, with Watson Library as its central hub, KU Libraries houses more than 5.8 million items across six locations as the largest library collection in the state of Kansas. For generations of KU students, KU Libraries are a key entry point for the information and resources necessary for academic success. For faculty and staff, the libraries are partners in research and teaching and leaders in scholarly communication.’
This has been an extremely amazing time to be a Jayhawk - join me in celebrating Watson Library’s Centennial Celebration! Visit: https://lib.ku.edu/watson100 for all of the details.
“Watson Library has been a cornerstone of learning, growth and congregation at KU for the past century,” she said. “As we mark this milestone, we are thrilled to invite all to join us in celebrating Watson’s remarkable legacy. This centennial celebration is not only a reflection on our shared past, but also a vibrant gathering of the community to look forward to the next 100 years of discovery and innovation together.” – KU Dean of Libraries, Carol Smith
