100th Celebration FAQ

Will my spouse/partner/friend be able to attend with me?

Yes! The more the merrier! We also welcome alumni from all Scholarship Halls and any guests you may want to bring. Please just make sure to RSVP with accurate counts so we know how many people to plan for.

Are there child-friendly events?

Yes!  Saturday’s afternoon events and tours are perfect for the whole family. The Friday Welcome Reception, Watkins Museum Reception, and Sunday Brunch are geared toward alumni and may not be engaging for children.

Where can I stay if I’m traveling from out of town?

Due to the variable nature of which events guests choose to attend, Kitchen 8 does not have a room block at any particular hotel. Many groups are choosing to get an AirBNB or Vrbo or staying with family and friends in the Lawrence and Kansas City Area.

What else is there to do in Lawrence while I’m in town

Enjoy the Driving Tour showcasing Elizabeth Miller Watkins’s legacy in Lawrence! You can also find great options on Explore Lawrence: https://www.explorelawrence.com/things-to-do/

Will the other Scholarship Halls be open for tours during this time?

Not during this event.

How can I help?

The majority of the events this celebratory weekend are free and completely volunteer driven. You can help make the most of a century of housework, schoolwork, and play by making a donation to support this event. Want to help with the planning or volunteer during the weekend? Please email K8 President Sarah Greenup at sarahgreenup@gmail.com.
